Welder Qualifications
We provide Welder Qualification Supervision, Testing and Certification to welding standards recognised in the New Zealand steel fabrication industry and abroad.
At Your Premises/Workshop - Welder qualifications can be supervised at your premises, with the convenience of using your own machines and equipment.
At Our Premises/Workshop - you can also arrange to come in and use our machines and equipment in our purpose-built welding qualification bay at our workshop (in Mt Wellington, Auckland).
The most common welder qualification standard that is required for welders is AS/NZS 2980 and/or AS/NZS ISO 9606-1. Changes were made in early 2018 to AS/NZS 2980. The positions qualified and types of weld qualified has changed. Now, to get all positions in a welding process for both butt and fillet welds, a vertical up (VU/PF) and overhead (OH/PE) butt weld and a supplementary, horizontal vertical (2F/PB) fillet must be welded.
